Data Engineering Manager

We are looking for a Data Engineering Manager to lead the initial discovery phase of a data project for a well-established media company. The role involves providing expert input and advice into the project roadmap, conducting an as-is/to-be analysis of the data and analytics function, and supporting the leadership team in determining the adequacy of the current team and operating model to achieve the desired future state.

• Lead the discovery phase of a data project, contributing insights and recommendations for the project roadmap.
• Conduct a thorough analysis of the current data and analytics function, identifying areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to evaluate the effectiveness of the existing team structure and resources.
• Provide Agile coaching and guidance to optimise team performance and project outcomes.
• Manage stakeholder relationships effectively, ensuring clear communication and alignment of project goals.
• Exercise the ability to push back constructively when necessary to maintain project integrity and direction.

• Proven experience managing Data Engineering teams successfully.
• Expertise in analysing team structures and making recommendations for increased effectiveness.
• Experience in assessing whether current organisational structures are fit for purpose.
• Strong background in Agile coaching.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• Confidence to assertively push back when required to guide the project in the right direction.
