Software Engineer

Salary: Between £28,720 - £43,080 + annual bonus & benefits bonus & benefits 

Office Attendance: Our roles are hybrid, however you should be able to travel to our Newcastle or Edinburgh office, 2 days per week for this position. 

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to work in our mobile team.

This role will give you exposure to working on customer facing journeys and products, with an opportunity to have a real impact on how the customers interact with the app. 

This is a great opportunity to take the first step in your mobile software development career.

You’ll have the chance to work within a well-established iOS team and a chance to put your stamp on the way things are done. 

You’ll be working alongside engineers of all levels and a tech lead.

You’ll also be working with the latest iOS technologies such as SwiftUI and MVVM

With a mandatory 6 days a year training time, we make sure that every quarter has some time devoted to learning.

You’ll be exposed to the SAFe ways of working and have opportunities to input into how the team can progress and make things better. 

What you’ll be doing  

• Developing the iOS mobile application using Swift 
• Collaborating with analysts, POs and scrum masters in your value stream
• Learning best practice from the more senior iOS engineers
• Helping to reduce the tech debt in the app

We need you to have

• A willingness to learn new technologies and a drive to improve yourself
• Experience working in an agile environment
• A solid grasp of OO principles

And if you have any of these, even better 

• An awareness of mobile app development
• Unit testing experience
• CI/CD, cloudbees/Jenkins experience
• Experience working on complicated codebases
• Experience of writing in swift or Objective C
• Experience developing iOS apps
