This is a 1 year fixed term contract role.
What you'll do
As an Inspector within our developer services team, you will:
- work within our Development Engineering team which covers the areas of Somerset and North Wiltshire
- be involved with inspections of constructed works
- review surveys to ensure that any changes to our existing systems are constructed in accordance with industry standards
- liaise with housing developers as a central point of contact for drainage and water supply issues on all aspects of new development
- interact with local councils, the public and other external stakeholders
- get involved with processing existing applications as well as giving developers advice and guidance on constructed works.
What you'll need
- You will be joining a busy team, where we support one another and work closely to make sure our customers are satisfied. Therefore, you will:
- need to be able to stay organised and effective under pressure, prioritising workloads to meet our high standards of service
- have an understanding of drainage design, operation and construction practices
- have experience of testing and inspecting works on active building sites, although you don't need to be a qualified site engineer
- have customer service experience and the ability to deal with a wide range of customers efficiently and professionally
- be able to assess development submissions and provide guidance by telephone, letter and e-mail
- be able to demonstrate a good standard of written and verbal communication skills
- be computer literate.
- Due to the nature of this role and the travelling requirement to and from sites and different locations, it is essential for you to hold a valid UK driving licence.
