Technical Graduate Trainee who is qualified to bachelors degree level preferably in Mechanical Engineering/Design or similar, with 3 months work experience (direct employment or an internship) and has an appetite for product development and technical application of products for the construction sector is required to undertake an International Graduate Programme for a global company based in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire.

SALARY: Up to £33,595 per annum

LOCATION: Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire - This role will involve international travel, undertaking an international placement for 4-6 months.

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Technical Graduate Trainee who is qualified to bachelors degree level preferably in Mechanical Engineering/Design or similar, with 3 months work experience (direct employment or an internship) and has an appetite for product development and technical application of products for the construction sector.

Working as the Technical Graduate Trainee you will be an integral part of the Technical team providing business support to the UK Window Solutions division.

As the Technical Graduate Trainee you will work on developing new and existing products, with the aim of extending and refining the companys extensive range, ensuring that they maintain their position as an innovative, leading systems supplier to the Global Fenestration Industry.

The role will involve working closely with their Window Solutions sales team, the North Wales extrusion factory and their extended development teams in Germany, as well as liaising directly with customers and suppliers in the UK.

Alongside this, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake a wide range of training courses and complete an international project, working with international colleagues and undertaking international placements at company locations globally for 4-6 months, during the programme.

The role is based at the Ross on Wye Head Office, with travel to the companys European and International Offices for training and placements.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As the Technical Graduate Trainee you will have the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

• Graduating/Graduated with a bachelors/MEng degree, with a 2:1 minimum, during or after 2021 (essential), preferably in Mechanical Engineering/Design or similar

• Possess 3 months work experience, in direct employment or an internship, experience (manufacturing/fenestration environment is preferred)

• Possess experience of working internationally either through studying abroad or, work experience (desired)

• Level B2/C1 standard in English (essential)

• Proficiency in a second language (German desired) is preferred however, GCSE / A Level qualifications in another language will be considered

• The position requires international travel and therefore openness to mobile working is essential

• Ability to work to deadlines

• The ideal candidate will have an appetite for product development and technical application of products for the construction sector and have experience of working with suppliers, customers and product design, ideally within the Fenestration industry (desired)

• You will ideally be familiar with manufacturing processes such as extrusion, injection moulding and fabrication

• You may have an understanding of quality standard ISO 9001 and environmental standard ISO 14001; and their application

• You should have well-developed IT skills, including the use of 3D modelling (use of Solidworks would be preferred)

• Competency in SMART-home, digital technologies and sustainable product design is also desirable
