Technical Sales Support Manager

Position: Technical Sales Support Manager - Renewable Energy - Solar PV

Area: UK - Remote/Hybrid

• Salary: £45-51,000 + Bonus + Car or Car Allowance, Share Scheme, Life Assurance,

Our client is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of building products, with more than 15,000 employees in 25 countries.

They are growing their renewables product range across the UK and Ireland region, and therefore, they are looking for someone with knowledge and experience of solar/PV (photovoltaics) products to support their commercial strategy.

As a Technical Sales Support Manager, you will provide expert technical support to customers (House Builders, Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Installers, and the external sales team)

You will also manage key customer accounts from a technical perspective and contribute to the wider commercial and product strategies for their renewable product lines.

This role is varied and involves

• delivering training
• Visiting sites ready to start installing our clients PV products to support installers
• Producing designs for customers looking to use our PV products
• Handle queries from site staff and investigate complaints.
• Attend trade shows and visit merchants to promote PV and renewables.

The role will involve frequent travel across the UK and Ireland region. A company car and allowance are provided to support you.

About You

You will have strong experience with renewable/solar PV products and a passion for customer excellence.

Our client is open-minded about your background. Perhaps you are a technical professional with experience in design/training for PV products looking to be more client-facing, or you are a sales professional with technical and design skills who is looking for something different.

This could be a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both the technical and client-facing sides of the business.

You will also have:

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Qualifications in a technical-related subject (ideally degree level) or comparable experience within a roofing or electrical-related role.
• (ideally) Experience delivering training.
• Experience of working on or attending construction sites
• Ability to read and interpret 2D housing plans, elevations, and details.
• Technically minded and able to learn product and system information
• Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel regularly
