Reginald Ames Limited is a well-established, fast growing and forward-thinking company, specialising in the importing and packing, of high end/speciality Teas, Herbs and Infusions from around the world. We are the market leading contract packer for Speciality Teas in the UK, packing for a multitude of well known, household brands. The team are focused, friendly, and highly professional, with a passion to deliver top quality products with pride.

We are a growing team of 28 people, 16 of whom are running our teabag and blending machines every day.

JOB SUMMARY:

Hours: 8.30am - 5pm

Salary: dependent on experience.

Managing our team of two Technicians/Engineers and working closely with the Production team to provide technical and engineering support to the Production Supervisors. Identify the operations and process improvements required to manufacture products in a way that ensures quality, cost and efficiency requirements are met. Set goals and standards and guide and develop Shift Engineers / Technicians to achieve those goals.

Ensure a safe working environment and continuity on all machines to be working safely and efficiently.

Control stock of Spare Parts and align this to support the speed of the production lines, minimizing downtime.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Oversee and Manage the Engineering function for the business.
• Lead a team of Engineer / Technicians, providing guidance, setting goals and standards for continued improvement.
• Develop & implementation of Production Staff SOPs to ensure all machines run satisfactorily to a standard process, unsupervised.
• Develop & implementation of Shift Engineer SOPs to ensure there is a standard way of working, fault finding and fixing machines.
• Ability to manage own time and workload effectively.
• Identify, justify, and implement improvement / efficiency opportunities.
• Ensure all machines are safe and legal.
• Manage Preventative Maintenance Schedule and arrange in-housework & external contractor visits.
• Develop Electronic reactive maintenance programme.
• Adhere to Trading, Weighing and Measures Legislations
• Liaise with Operations Manager & Technical Manager for Technical information and Systems Management

JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

ESSENTIAL:

• Fluent English speaking
• Hold a relevant Degree in engineering qualification.
• Proven experience of working & managing in a fast paced, manufacturing environment.
• Good Diagnostic and problem- solving skills.
• Good Organisation skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
• People management skills
• Teamwork
• Capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures.
• Health and Safety in the Engineering workplace
• Good Knowledge of MS Office programmes and WMS.

OPTIONAL

Working knowledge of CAD systems advantageous
